THE COMPANY: This company is a mid-sized and highly recognizable Financial Services-based organisation who operate a critical and complex HA enterprise network. This role is based North of the CBD and free parking is available. Hybrid working (3 days in office, 2 days WFH). ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES As the Network Support Engineer (Connectivity), you'll be working in a team to establish, provision, and ensure Network Connectivity for external customers inside the data center environment and co-locations. Working hours are rotating shifts between 7am to 3:30pm, 10am to 6:30pm, and 1pm - 9:30pm (Mon-Fri). Responsibilities include: Provision of new network services then provide post implementation network support to customers. Configuration of routers, switches, firewalls, servers (layer 1 & 2). Gateway installation and configuration. Technical support of network infrastructure. Hands-on physical datacentre field work - racking/stacking, cabling, patching, device config etc. Participate in a paid on-call roster and overtime (paid or time in lieu). REQUIRED BACKGROUND / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE / PERSONAL QUALITIES Suitable for a Network Engineer/Support Engineer with enterprise datacentre experience supporting critical network infrastructure. Ideal for someone looking to join a reputable organisation, work on complex enterprise network, with a supportive & friendly manager & team. The following is required: Proven Network Engineer/Support Engineer experience - layer 1 & 2 routing, switching, firewall config/troubleshooting. Hands-on Data centre experience in the field - physically building, configuring and deploying network infrastructure inside the DC; replacing racking/stacking devices; patching & cabling (copper & fibre cables) etc. Competent knowledge of BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP Linux command line exp. Transmission network exp is beneficial (CWDM/DWDM) Background interacting with external customers. Positive, hardworking, and driven personality who demonstrates a willingness to learn. Experience inside a Telco or Managed Service Provider is beneficial. Comfortable with (paid) overtime when required. CCNA and/or CCNP is beneficial. Australian citizenship or Australian permanent residency is essential. This is a full-time permanent role is located North of the Sydney CBD (hybrid working available) and is offering $100,000 - $112,107 (plus super) paid on-call allowance overtime bonus potential.
