An exceptional opportunity for an experienced engineer to join a leading system integrator in tolling, ITS & tunnel management systems design, development and deployment. The Substation Secondary Systems Lead Engineer is responsible for leading the design of the secondary systems within electrical substations. The role entails overseeing the detailed electrical design of protection, control and communications systems as well as auxiliary systems within substations. Key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to: Lead the detailed design of secondary systems, including protection, control, communication, and auxiliary system layouts and wiring within substations. Contribute to the development of design reports, standards and manuals. Ensure designs adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, client specifications as well as safety and environmental guidelines. Review technical documentation, including design reports, specifications, and test procedures, and provide input for electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, layouts, interlocking, cable schedules, and bills of materials (BOMs). Collaborate with engineering teams, clients, contractors, and suppliers to gather requirements and ensure design feasibility. Requirements Bachelor of Electrical/mechanical Engineering, information technology or similar. Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in substation design, focusing on secondary systems. Proven track record of successfully delivering substation secondary design projects. Strong understanding of electrical protection and control systems. Knowledge of AS, IEC, IEEE, and other relevant standards. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently in an efficient manner.
