Network & Security Engineer – Palo Alto Department of Parliamentary Services Ongoing, full time role PoV 5 - $106,534 - $128,897 base salary range A new Parliamentary Officer Enterprise Agreement will be negotiated during 2024. It is anticipated that the salary range for this role will increase potentially to $109,730 to $132,764. We have an opportunity for Palo Alto specialist to join our Network & Security team. About the Role This role offers an opportunity to design, maintain, and secure Parliament's IT infrastructure. You'll troubleshoot complex issues, support cyber security efforts, and manage technology projects. Key responsibilities: Design, install, and maintain secure and resilient network infrastructure. Automate network tasks and analyse data to improve performance and security. Provide advanced technical support and partner with the Service Desk. Assist with cyber security threats and data protection strategies Oversee technology deployments, relocations, and upgrades. About you You will ideally bring proven experience in the design and management of Palo Alto technologies, alongside: A strong understanding of relevant security frameworks (e.g., ISM, ASD Essential Eight) is essential. Proven experience in applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills to drive customer-centred service excellence and continuous improvement Strong track record of understanding business needs and identifying and applying appropriate current and emerging technologies to drive business improvements. Demonstrated well-developed written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to communicate across a broad technical and non-technical audiences. Tertiary qualification in IT or a related field or equivalent relevant industry experience and certifications. Related certifications like CCNP, CCNA Security or equivalent are desirable but not mandatory. A strong commitment to skills sharing and continuous learning is valued. Why join us?
