We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer About the role: As an integral part of our electrical engineering team, you will be responsible for the preparation of engineering specifications, engineering reports, Electrical calculations, design layouts, production drawings and cost estimates. Also managing the responsible for the requirements definition and development of reference designs for new Electrical systems to be incorporated into a design baseline and the development of integration plans for rolling stock and assurance of new systems and operating methodologies. This is an exciting engineering role supporting multiple activities across the delivery lifecycle and perform design and engineering tasks on rolling stock systems. Role requirements: Bachelor of Electrical Engineering Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) or eligible for RPEQ status Failure-reporting, fault finding and engineering change Validating safety and customer functionality requirements Produce sub-system specifications Knowledge of quality assurance and investigations Strong emphasis on innovation and best practice Articulate complex concepts to all levels of the business An analytical approach to root cause, cost-benefit, safety and risk Specific desired skills and experience: Rail, aerospace, defence or similar heavy industry environment Rollingstock design and maintenance Familiarity with Queensland Rail standards and work practice Culture Downer believes that our employees are fundamental to the culture and success of the company.
