The ideal candidate will be responsible for configuring, managing, and maintaining both Windows and Linux server environments. This is a flexible, primarily remote role, with occasional on-call duties. Candidates with an NV1 clearance or above are required. Key Responsibilities: Server Management: Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux servers. Perform updates, patches, and upgrades to ensure security and optimal performance. Manage resources like CPU, memory, and storage for efficiency. Monitoring and Performance: Monitor server performance and availability using monitoring tools. Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues. Proactively identify issues to ensure system stability. Security and Compliance: Implement access controls and security policies for server protection. Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments. Apply security patches to mitigate potential threats. Backup and Recovery: Develop and manage backup/recovery procedures to ensure data integrity. Regularly test backup processes for effectiveness. Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support for server issues, resolving hardware/software problems. Collaborate with IT teams to support cross-functional projects. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain documentation of server configurations and incidents. Report regularly on performance, incidents, and server maintenance activities. Automation and Scripting: Develop automation scripts for server management. Implement configuration management tools to maintain server consistency. Project Involvement: Participate in server-related IT projects. Assist in server migrations, upgrades, and deployments. Qualifications and Skills: Strong experience in both Windows and Linux server administration . Hands-on experience with server management, security, monitoring, and performance tuning . Proficient in automation scripting and working with monitoring tools . NV1 security clearance (or above) is mandatory. Willingness to participate in on-call support .
