We are looking for a Back End Software Engineering Lead (Quality Cloud Architect) who wants to join and grow a high-performing team which aims to help create a world class engineering capability. The technologies used will be wide ranging and varied. You will be energetic to learn and pick up new technologies and work across different clients and sectors. In this role we will be bringing together the traditional responsibilities across Quality Engineering, DevOps and Cloud Engineering. If technology enthuses you and you strive for excellence, this is the role for you. Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex API-driven applications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define architecture, and deliver high-quality solutions. Provide expertise in solution and application architecture. Teach and evangelise engineering teams on building scalable, API-focused solutions. Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Ensure code quality, performance, and maintainability through code reviews, testing, and best practices. Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends, proactively suggesting improvements to the tech stack. Contribute to the overall technical strategy and direction of the development team. Required Skills and Expertise: Proven experience in API development or a related field with proven expertise in some of the following: .NET, C#, ASP.NET Clean Architecture, Node.JS, TypeScript. Experience in solution architecture and application architecture, with a focus on backend orchestration. Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., TypeScript, JS, C#, etc.). Expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevOps practices. Strong understanding of software design patterns, architecture principles, and best practices. Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively in a team environment. DevOps exposure, including CI/CD, containerisation, and cloud infrastructure automation. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Bonus Points: Experience in designing and implementing Internal Developer Platforms. Experience with monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana and Sloth. Experience with Next.JS
