What you do: As a DevOps Engineer at iSelect, you will be a key contributor to the operations and engineering teams, providing technical expertise to ensure the highest quality and fit-for-purpose solutions for our platforms. You will be responsible for building, hardening and maintaining cloud infrastructure in line with the technology strategy and product roadmaps, improving developer experience and speed of software delivery via robust CI/CD pipelines and ensuring system performance and monitoring with help of industry-standard platform observability practices. This includes making collaborative decisions on cloud services, automation tools, and overall technical strategy for your domain. You will be a practitioner level engineer in your respective domain and have the technical ability to observe/analyse DevOps practices and drive the practice maturity and capability uplift. This role is suitable for a DevOps practitioner with solid commercial experience, aspiring to be a key player in the company-wide digital transformation, designing and building the next iteration of digital products and platforms. What you need: AWS Experience and Knowledge: Understanding of configuring and managing security groups to control inbound and outbound traffic. Proficiency in deploying, managing, and scaling containerized applications using ECS. Hands-on experience with launching, configuring, and managing EC2 instances. Knowledge of setting up and managing NACLs to provide an additional layer of security at the subnet level. Familiarity with AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and other monitoring and logging tools. - Desirable Other Experience and Knowledge: Understanding and experience with IaC tools, such as AWS CloudFormation or Terraform for managing infrastructure as code. Proficiency in Linux OS, Bash scripting Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools and practices. Understanding of AWS security best practices and compliance requirements. Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role in software development and system administration. SQL Development experience Application Observability experience including understanding of distributed tracing to monitor and troubleshoot microservices and proficiency in setting up alerting mechanisms and managing incidents.
