Position Overview: We are seeking an exceptional Systems Development Engineer with expertise in software development, system administration, and cloud computing. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining complex systems, applications, and infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable cloud-based systems on AWS, including EC2 instances, RDS databases, S3 buckets, and more. Develop software applications using various programming languages (e.g., Python, Node.js, Java). Manage and maintain all aspects of hardware, software, and operating systems, including patching, updating, and troubleshooting. Ensure the security and integrity of our production environment by implementing and enforcing security best practices. Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure smooth operation of production environments and troubleshoot complex technical issues. Develop and maintain documentation for systems, applications, and infrastructure, including architecture diagrams, deployment guides, and user manuals. Troubleshoot complex technical issues in a fast-paced environment and provide on-call support as needed. Participate in code reviews, contribute to the development of coding standards, and promote best practices for software development. Work closely with various teams to automate tasks, improve efficiency, and reduce manual labour. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 3 years of experience in software development, system administration, and cloud computing. Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including: EC2 instances RDS databases S3 buckets Elastic Load Balancers (ELBs) API Gateway Lambda Strong programming skills in one or more languages, such as Java, Python, C++, or Node.js. Experience with software development methodologies like Agile and DevOps. Strong understanding of system administration principles, including security, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery planning. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cloud security, compliance, and governance frameworks. Knowledge of containerisation tools like Docker. Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD. Strong experience with Linux and/or Windows operating systems. Why Work With Us?
