We are currently seeking applications for a Site Reliability Engineer, to join our client for a period of up to 12 months. About the opportunity: The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will modernise, transform and deliver a range of sustainable, user-focussed, digital government services for the South Australian community supporting the government’s objectives and goals. The position will influence strategy and lead system infrastructure to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of systems, including hands-on configuration of complex components. The SRE will provide technical expertise and direction to solve complex problems on infrastructure activities and advise leadership on the infrastructure required to enable delivery of all major digital projects. About you: To be successful you will: Lead and plan systems infrastructure to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of all systems, including hands-on configuration of complex components. Lead an evolving DevOps Tools & enablement strategy by proactively reviewing, developing and implementing strategies, processes and procedures to achieve automation objectives, including implementation of automation tools and frameworks. Optimise the organisation’s computing architecture by managing the improvement to the design and operation of citizen facing systems to make them more scalable and to increase reliability and more efficiency. Provide technical expertise to solve complex problems on infrastructure activities and ensure operations are managed and maintained according to service management and security organisation frameworks. Automate tasks, deployment, and test by creating infrastructure as code, and maintaining the quality of code produced. Ensure the reliability and performance of critical citizen facing system by developing and implementing strategies to ensure high availability of systems to citizens and agencies that rely on them. Identify patterns in system performance issues and create strategies and policies to overcome them. Communicate effectively to leadership and development teams the resulting new policies and oversee the implementation. Promote team cohesion, productivity, and collaboration, as a leader within Digital Programs, and act as a digital ambassador by supporting the recruitment of highly qualified staff and identifying best practices within the industry.
