Do you want to be part of the solution to keeping Victoria safe from Bushfires and other emergency events? Is climate response important to you? Data Analytics and Information Systems (DAIS) is a team of about 80 technical specialists, who discover, design, develop and deliver a complex and integrated suite of products and platforms enabling DEECA to plan, monitor and respond to Bushfires and other Emergencies. Our ideal candidate will have a background in delivering significant emergency management systems technology and it would be advantageous if you have experience working with the emergency management sector. The Program aims to develop modern consolidated virtual platforms to manage DEECA's personnel emergency role profiles. The platforms will record and track the deployment of personnel and plant to events, including bushfires, biosecurity incidents, and other associated emergencies. The Program requires a highly skilled and experienced individual to work autonomously, to ensure a solid foundation for the solution, and future state, mitigating risks as they are raised. Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications Essential Demonstrated skills and experience of Microsoft SQL Server including: Query optimisation techniques including reviewing execution plans, creating indexes, using database locking hints and refactoring T-SQL statements. Highly proficient in SQL, Python and accessing data via API calls ETL / ELT and DevOps experience Data modelling proficiency Design / Architect solutions with experience in modelling data, documenting data lineage and master data management Desirable Experience with the Azure Cloud platform including the following services (or AWS equivalents): Azure Data Factory Functional Apps Blob and Data Lake Storage CosmosDB Familiarity with EAV (Entity Attribute Value) data structures Knowledge of and/or experience with Business Intelligence Reporting Knowledge and experience in design, build, test and deploy stages of advanced API solutions Experience with Databricks Experience with Terraform This is a fixed term position available for a period of 2 years. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria (main office is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne) with hybrid work arrangements available.
