Junior Network Engineer opportunity for a growing multinational organisation. Position Context This role involves assisting with the investigation and resolution of network issues, implementing maintenance procedures, and ensuring the operational function and support of large enterprise SD-WAN customers: Operate SD-WAN networks in line with agreed practices on a 24x7 basis. Strive to meet agreed service and availability levels. Provide support across functions such as: Incident Management Problem Management Change Management Capacity Management Release Management Initially focused on a large enterprise customer’s Meraki SD-WAN network, with potential to support other customers and SD-WAN technologies. Respond quickly to outages and participate in an on-call roster for escalations. Collaborate with other business units to support services like monitoring, SIP, and managed cloud services. Adhere to standard processes, including event, release, change, availability, capacity, and problem management, working closely with the Service Desk and other departments. Primarily based in Melbourne, with occasional travel to the customer’s site for meetings, lab testing, and onsite support. Travel to data center sites and interstate offices may also be required. Skills, Knowledge, and Experience At least 2-3 years of networking experience in a service provider or large enterprise setting. Experience deploying and supporting Meraki equipment, especially MX Security Appliances. Familiarity with SD-WAN technologies, with a focus on Meraki. Strong networking expertise, including: Working in large enterprise networks with multi-vendor environments Proficiency in SD-WAN technologies (Meraki, Fortinet, Cisco Viptela) Knowledge of routing protocols Hands-on experience with Cisco Core and Edge Routing and Switching platforms Experience with Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC) Knowledge of Cisco Umbrella and Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) Understanding of major telecommunications carriers and integrator technologies/products. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to proactively build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, customers, peers, and colleagues. Proven experience in troubleshooting and managing networks. Demonstrated success in fostering relationships with stakeholders, customers, and team members. Qualifications: Formal tertiary qualifications in IT or related fields. At least 3 years of networking experience in a service provider or large enterprise environment.
