More About the Role at SafetyCulture SafetyCulture is looking for a seasoned engineering leader who is passionate about building high performance engineering teams to join SafetyCulture as a Director of Engineering. We’re looking for a strategic thinker who drives technical excellence and fosters innovation, who’ll lead our engineering team to deliver high-quality products that support the company’s vision and mission. Reporting directly to our Chief Information Officer, you will: - Provide direct leadership to engineering managers, and some engineers; - Partner with our People team to attract and engage top talent; - Foster a collaborative, ambitious, and outcome-driven culture; - Provide continuous feedback, address underperformance, and recognize the individual strengths and contributions of your team members; - Be responsible for high quality and high velocity execution of the engineering org; - Identify, evaluate, and optimize processes to maximize efficiency; - Unblock and push the team to hit deadlines; - Anticipate strategic and scaling-related challenges and collaborate with the team to find the best scalable solution; - Collaborate successfully with cross functional partners including product, support and GTM - Assist the GTM org in landing and serving our biggest customers; - Partner with Product org on delivering solutions to our customers that keep SafetyCulture competitive. We're looking for someone who: - Is a proven leader, who has successfully taken high-performance engineering teams through the scaling period; - Has a strong record of hiring and developing great, diverse talent; - Has 10 years of engineering leadership experience, including experience overseeing an engineering org of 20; - Is comfortable operating in an environment where you need to motivate teams by working both with managers and directly with engineers;Has successfully managed hybrid and remote teams working;Has 5 years experience overseeing development of AI/ML products; - Has experience delivering and maintaining B2B web apps, with some consumer-facing product experience preferred; - Has a strong sense of urgency to deliver results and inspire the team to achieve beyond what they think is possible; - Has a strong sense of ownership and accountability; - Is enthusiastic about diving into the code and getting your hands dirty when needed; - Has strong technical mastery in software engineering but remains curious and committed to learning and improving their craft.
