You have a generalist skill-set and are looking to be a leader in pipeline development, data modelling and deployment automation. In this role you will work in the Financial Crime and Risk space, to build out and support data assets, pipelines and data controls supporting the safety of our customers and business. How you will spend your time As a Data Engineer-Risk you will be expected to: Work with business stakeholders to understand their data requirements. Have a strong focus on documenting design and implementing quality controls to mature implementation of our architectural principles. Define, map and model the data and data-flows from multiple types of system in line with our target data vault architecture. Be able to build quality checks and tests for all newly developed code and data assets, checking for completeness and integrity against established processes. Understand, evaluate and adopt new data source systems, data engineering practices and techniques Liaise with other technology teams, internal infrastructure providers and external partners Work with our Analysts to support the development of analytic models and assets and support the development of business-facing self-service reporting tools. What you will bring Sound understanding of data modelling/warehousing techniques and experience building on and with data lakes, relational databases, file storage, APIs, modern lakehouses and cloud based environments. Appropriate industry experience/qualifications in data engineering/modelling and data analytics. Essential At least 3 years of practical and demonstrable experience in the exploration, development and deployment of complex data sets and pipelines, preferably including financial services data Knowledge of data preparation, transformation and modelling techniques Knowledge of CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code methodologies Experience working with technical and business stakeholders to develop data requirements Experience using data tools and languages such as SQL, Python, Spark and PySpark and DBT Strong problem-solving skills Desirable Previous work experience with the Databricks platform (highly desirable) Exposure to Data Vault modelling methodology and implementation of this in a business setting Exposure to Financial Risk controls and Financial Crime bank processes Experience with AWS,Airflow, Fivetran, PostgreSQL database or equivalents A good sense of humour Why ubank?
