About the Role West Gate Bridge is a vital link in Melbourne’s transport system and because of its age, scale and complexity the bridge places a heavy burden of responsibility on the Corporation to ensure those occupying key roles in the management of the bridge possess the skills necessary to assume these responsibilities on behalf of the Corporation. The Senior Bridge Engineer Role, within the West Gate Bridge Management Team (WGBMT), is responsible for the development, management and delivery of complex projects and associated documentation. The Role is based on site and encompasses a wide range of works, from routine maintenance and rehabilitation to large scale capital works, all while ensuring the WGB is kept operational and safe. The WGBMT is a part of the Inner Metro, Transport Services division and looks after the maintenance and rehabilitation of the WGB as one of the most critical assets of Victoria. The Role’s responsibilities include but are not limited to: Monitoring and maintaining vital structural components and assets of the West Gate Bridge. Managing and delivering a wide range of projects to scope, budget, time and quality. Preparing, tendering and administering contracts for bridge works. Financial management, including project estimation and forecasting. Provision of technical advice to key stakeholders and contractors. Construction verification and supervision. Reviewing quality, safety, financial and environmental documentation. Work scheduling and resource management. To access the full position description, please click here.
