About the opportunity: Network Rail Consulting is currently hiring for an experienced Lead Verification & Validation Engineer to join our team based in Sydney. In this role, you will work collaboratively with an established project team to deliver an integrated testing approach including the verification, validation and testing phases. The successful applicant for this role will have demonstrated leadership skills, experience of the V&V cycle and the confidence to apply their technical expertise in a consultancy environment. What you will be involved in: Work collaboratively with the Technical and System Engineering Teams to establish testing/V&V priorities ensuring a joined-up approach. Lead project management activities for the V&V teams. Support the direction of the Integration Testing Lead Engineer to deliver Master Test Plans. Manage and resource the testing program for the System Integration testing phase. Work with suppliers and commissioning engineers on sub-system testing during the sub-system testing phase. Ensure all testing is delivered in accordance with local and international standards and that reduces risk to as low as reasonably practicable. Experience & Qualifications: Essential Significant experience of working on ETCS delivery programs in a leadership role. Relevant qualifications/certification on previous projects to deliver integration testing. Demonstrated experience of the V&V cycle. Strong background in Signalling projects, preferably ETCS Level 2, ATO and Traffic Management systems or equivalent systems. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills. Desirable Membership of a relevant professional body. Knowledge of one or more of the ETCS L2 sub-systems (trackside, onboard, FTN, DTRS, ATO, TMS). Experience during the development and entry into service phase of new rail infrastructure. Knowledge/experience of working in the Australian rail industry.
