You will provide expert technical leadership in civil and structural infrastructure design. In this role, you will ensure project outcomes are achieved while adhering to relevant legislation, policies, procedures and practices. The Senior Civil Design Engineer will lead the design efforts for Powerlink and external customer projects, supervise designers and oversee the civil and structural design processes. Within this role, you will be responsible for approving and certifying designs, documentation and drawings as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) to ensure compliance with relevant legislation. The people you'll join: As a Senior Civil/Structural Substation Design Engineer , you will join a dynamic and collaborative community based in Virginia. In this role, you will report directly to the Team Leader within the Design Solutions group, where you will contribute your expertise and leadership to a variety of exciting projects What you'll bring: Extensive experience in high-voltage primary civil and structural infrastructure design (110kV and above), as well as Expert knowledge and design capability with respect to all components and calculations for HV substation projects. Bachelor of Engineering (Civil/Structural) Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ). Significant experience in HV primary civil and structural infrastructure design & design review, preferably in HV substation (110kV and above) and extensive knowledge of HV substation construction and maintenance practices in accordance to relevant Australian Standards and other related codes. Demonstrated ability to supervise, coach and mentor team members Sound operational knowledge of soil mechanics and associated design parameters. Expert knowledge and experience of HV substation design, design review and construction and maintenance practices with respect to the following: Substation plant, gantry structures, tubular beams and poles, HV substation structural steelwork, earthworks, foundations, control buildings and footings, drainage systems, cable trenches, conduits, roadworks, oil containment, fire walls, noise enclosures, fencing and foundation designs for HV substation infrastructure, including HV electrical equipment, control buildings in different ground conditions and all associated civil works.
