Calling all PhD qualified embedded software engineers with advanced maths skills, excellent coding, electrical & sensor experience - all levels The Company: Our client has offices in Melbourne & Sydney CBD areas. They are a technology consultancy with services spanning the entire product lifecycle, from idea validation and proof of value, through to end-to-end digital product development. This role will be focussed on their start up, working on a vision to help Australian households reduce their electricity bills, make the most of their solar and contribute to a low-carbon future through energy visibility. The Role: This Embedded Software Engineer role suit someone who is passionate about sustainability, energy efficiency and the development of consumer technology products that harness the power of Data, IoT and Digital. You will be a curious problem solver who loves a challenge with a spirit of adventure and ability to switch between research, deep thinking and experimenting/developing. Key Responsibilities: Conduct in-depth research and apply advanced mathematical principles to solve complex engineering challenges Design and implement solutions using C or C++ programming languages Collaborate with cross-functional teams on research projects and experimental designs Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Lead experiments and analyse results to continuously improve our sensor technologies Essential Skills Required: PhD in Engineering, Mathematics , or a closely related field to electrical engineering and mathematics (strong foundation in advanced engineering mathematics: Linear algebra (vector/matrix arithmetic), Complex numbers, Statistics, Basic Calculus ) Proficiency in C or C++ programming Engineering mathematics, particularly applied in research contexts Experience in research and experimental methodology Excellent communication skills, with an ability to present complex ideas clearly Nice to have/familiarity with: Armadillo library Fourier transforms Experience with: electrical engineering embedded design and sensors, data collection and thus what quality issues there may be with it Modern C++ (C++20 and above) Gnuplot Independent Component Analysis (ICA)/Blind Source Separation (BSS) Numeric optimisation methods Please submit your resume and cover letter in Microsoft WORD format only.
