The Opportunity As the Structural Engineer your primary duties will be around Civil and Structural Engineering to develop, update and deliver Asset Class Plans and Strategies, monitor and improve asset performance to target levels. What you'll do: Deliver effective and efficient engineering and technical support in relevant discipline Lead and assist technical investigations (RCA, FMECA, etc) coordinate, oversee, and report on corrective actions Develop Business Cases, PDP's, Scope of Works or Project Briefs for the capital provisions program relevant to structures and stormwater. Deliver rolling condition assessment programs for relevant Hunter Water assets Maintain and assist with the development of critical asset maintenance, delivering operational capability and resilience Assist with day-to-day consultation to ensure alignment between client and service provider goals Deliver minor capital project works as assigned by the Team Leader What you'll need to be successful: Essential Criteria: Tertiary Qualifications in Civil/Structural Engineering combined with extensive experience in Civil/Structural Engineering Ability to interpret and apply relevant engineering standards, codes and guidelines Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to analyse and interpret data and information and make sound judgements. Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships and influence others Drivers licence and Construction Induction (white) card Desirable Criteria: Experience working with GIS/Ellipse or other computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS), involving work control, cost and asset performance data acquisition, analysis and reporting An understanding of financial aspects of asset management including capital acquisition, assets registers, valuation, depreciation, asset economic life, and Opex and Capex forecasting and life cycle costing An understanding of the technical aspects, failure modes, repair methods and failure prevention techniques for water industry equipment Accreditation as Registered/Chartered Professional Engineer (RPEng or CPEng) At Hunter Water we offer a range of employee benefits.
