About North East Link The Spark Consortium has been selected to deliver the Central Package of the North East Link Project - Victoria's biggest road project. The Spark Consortium’s Design and Construction Contractor - which comprises Webuild, CPB Contractors, GS Engineering and Construction and China Construction Oceania - will deliver the twin three-lane tunnels and key interchanges for the project. The Central Package will be delivered as a Public Private Partnership and provides three-lane twin tunnels that will close the missing link in Melbourne’s freeway network from the M80 Ring Road to an upgraded Eastern Freeway, reducing journey times and diverting heavy vehicles away from local roads. Up to 135,000 vehicles will use North East Link every day, reducing congestion in the north-east while maintaining local roads. About the Opportunity Seize the opportunity to leave your mark on a groundbreaking project. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Project Engineer with a strong background in tunnel structures to join our dynamic SEM team on the North East Link Project. Your primary responsibilities will include the coordination of on-site engineering functions including management of PE’s and SE’s for the SEM components of the project, with a multi-million dollar portfolio of work. You will be responsible for managing the tunnel permanent lining section of the project and team to achieve time and budget objectives and provide efficient support for construction activities. This is a senior opportunity, and we are looking for passionate people help manage a team of engineers and successfully deliver Melbourne’s largest project to date. This role will be accountable for: Monitor quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material, check work drawings, construction and specifications against site plans and conditions and arrange corrections or modifications where necessary All coordination of SEM permanent lining works including waterproofing, complex reinforcement and large scale formwork/gantry systems. Track, manage and report on costs and rates including end of month process for accruals and cost to complete. Assign work and assist with reviews for accuracy and adherence to required standards of supplier, subcontractor quotations/purchase orders as well as subcontractor arrangements Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and planning authorities to ensure satisfactory completion of structures and construction work Coordinate the activities of an engineering and supervision team, program workloads and provide technical and administrative guidance to the engineering staff to ensure aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved Ensure that project engineering completion is on time and within budget. Record completed work, costs incurred, materials used and retain progress drawings Minimum requirements for this role are: Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction or equivalent Specific experience with large scale tunnel concrete structures including complex reinforcement and tunnel formwork systems.
