About the role: The Data Engineer plays a critical role in the successful development and delivery of Business Intelligence and Analytics. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, highly detail-oriented team-player with a positive drive to strategize and implement solutions that enable the business to derive valuable insights. Role description: Understand the Business Context and Requirements Understand the required tasks and steps for this project (e.g. Source to DWH to Tabular Model to report) Collaborate with other team members to achieve business reporting objectives. Generate detailed solution design documents including data models, measure definitions and source to target mapping. Develop ETL/ELT for Azure Synapse Analytics (using Synapse Pipelines, ADLS2, SQL Stored Procedures, ADX and Python) Develop and Maintain source code using Azure DevOps Develop Tabular Models and Reports using Microsoft PowerBI and Azure Analysis Services Develop and conduct unit testing. Required skills and competencies: 5 years’ experience working in technical Analytics or Business Intelligence environments 5 years’ experience working with Microsoft SQL databases and Azure Synapse Analytics Comprehensive SQL, PowerBI and DAX knowledge and experience Working knowledge of Python, JSON and KQL Experience in working with large, complex Data Warehouses using the Microsoft Data Stack within an Azure or similar cloud-based environment.
