ConsultANZ is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to join one of our clients to lead the way in designing and optimizing cutting-edge processes in small, medium and large-scale projects, both for Australia and abroad. Role and Responsibilities Thoroughly reviewing functional statements, organizational charts, and project-related information to ascertain the specific functions and responsibilities assigned to employees and work units, and to pinpoint any instances of redundancy or duplication within the organization. Leading and overseeing a team of skilled process engineers in designing, developing, and implementing innovative mechanical processes. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define project objectives, scope, and timelines, ensuring seamless execution of projects. Defining guidelines and regulations in line with engineering principles and safety standards for tasks such as installation, modification, quality control, testing, inspection, and maintenance. Creating mechanical equipment, machines, components, and products intended for manufacturing, as well as designing plant and construction systems. Conducting detailed analysis of existing processes, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending strategic enhancements to optimize efficiency and productivity. Designing and implementing experiments and tests to validate process improvements and innovations, utilizing data-driven approaches to guide decision-making. Assist in all engineering assurance processes such HAZIDs, risk assessments, HAZOPs, constructability reviews, etc. Providing technical expertise and mentorship to team members, fostering their professional growth and development. Conducting plant inspections to ensure that optimal performance is upheld. Collaborating closely with external stakeholders to ensure alignment between engineering, production, and business goals. Evaluating workforce usage, facility arrangement, operational data, production schedules, and expenses to identify the most efficient worker and equipment utilization. Staying current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously enhance the company's process engineering capabilities. Preparing process line, equipment, valve and instrument lists. Requirements for the role BEng Mechanical Degree or BEng Chemical Degree qualified. 10 years technical design experience. Exposure to process and structural disciplines such as EI&C Proven background working in the Engineering Consultancy field. Worked on a project in a lead function (IE: Senior Project, Senior Mechanical Engineer or in another leading capacity) Must have Oil & Gas and/or Petrochemical or Water experience.
