About the opportunity: Building on our continued success and growth, NRC Australia is currently establishing a team of experienced professionals for a suite of major rail infrastructure projects across Queensland. We’re currently recruiting for a Signalling Maintenance Engineer with demonstrated experience in ETCS Trackside Sub-Systems to join our growing team as a Managing Consultant– Asset Management & Maintenance based in Brisbane. In this role, you will provide practical, experience-based support for the trialling and roll-out of new digital systems and/or modified methods of working. What you will be involved in: Support with the proposal of asset renewal strategies. Support with overall engineering governance of the signalling asset. Support the development and agreement of annual maintenance, inspection and testing programmes and resource levels. Support the process for hand-over and acceptance and hand-back of assets being renewed, installed or modified. Support the processes for restoring to normal operation after completion of testing/investigation, equipment that has failed, been subject to an allegation or has been renewed. Supporting safety, asset performance, reliability, productivity and efficiency improvement initiatives. Establish and maintain appropriate safety arrangements. Assisting with control and check the quality of work undertaken and confirm assets are compliant to standards. Experience & Qualifications: Essential: Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area or extensive demonstratable experience. Significant rail industry experience in an Asset Management & Maintenance capacity. Proven knowledge of railway signalling infrastructure assets and prior experience with ETCS Trackside Sub-Systems. Experienced in implementing operational performance improvement initiatives. Excellent stakeholder management skills and problem-solving abilities. Proven ability to translate client needs into working solutions. Proficient in building positive relationships across a range of client stakeholders – including the ability to engage busy senior stakeholders and work with SME's on technical detail. Strong IT proficiency – including MS Office applications and developed report writing skills. Experience of using Enterprise Asset Management Systems (such as Ellipse, Maximo, SAP) in the rail sector an advantage. Desirable: Membership of relevant professional body. Asset Management Qualifications. Expertise in engineering management in a safety critical industry.
