Company snapshot A building services specialist located in the metro north / eastern suburbs. A growing team of 7 services engineers who are moving from strength to strength as the business develops strategically. The usual variety of projects from education to residential, industrial and hospitality (no surprises there). Why this role? You’ll be looking after design of hydraulic services, project leadership, clients, other stakeholders (both polished and gnarly) and project financials. You’ll be guided if needed but able to jump in and run a project as your own - either from the start, or, in time. Low drama office environment with a bit of traditional banter. You won't take your work home at the end of the day here. You’d like to know more? Projects come from private developers and builders. The group is led by an experienced Director who is hands-off with senior staff. After successfully operating the businesses with sole responsibility for 20 years, he’s now appointed 2 other Directors. Afterall, no man is an island. No politics here - just enjoy the day to day. Your day to day Day to day, you’ll be designing and documenting projects such as warehouses, residential towers, childcare facilities. You’ll work on a broad spectrum of projects, possibly 10 or 20 at any one time, both small and large. You’ll design systems for hot and cold water, gas and dry fire services (wet fire, sprinklers would be a bonus). Along with project management and mentoring of a junior engineer, this is your day to day. You’ll need a few skills to start: A comprehensive understanding of building services engineering with a background in hydraulics (Civil or Mechanical or similar) Engineering degree qualification Someone who can work solo. Flexibility to appreciate the changes in scope of works from time to time. Someone who enjoys the simple things in life. Let's not over-complicate it. What’s in it for you?
