Note: This is a hybrid role based in Melbourne ABOUT THE ROLE: We are seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to help our client in their final stages of migrating its on-premises environment to Microsoft Azure. As an Azure Cloud Engineer , you will review, analyze, and implement Microsoft Defender security recommendations, ensuring optimal security posture across our cloud infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Review and assess Microsoft Defender security recommendations, analyzing their impact and relevance. Implement prioritized security recommendations across the Azure environment. Configure servers and deploy additional resources to support implementation, including shared secrets and infrastructure components. Update applications to securely access shared secrets. Create and manage pull requests to ensure smooth deployment workflows. Leverage automation tools to efficiently roll out changes across multiple virtual machines (VMs). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate maintenance windows, outages, and cutover periods. Required Skills and Experience: Strong hands-on experience with Terraform , including deploying resources in a team-oriented environment using templates, modules, and shared conventions. Familiarity with Ansible for configuring both Linux and Windows servers. Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell and Bash . Solid experience in server administration (Windows and Linux). Strong analytical skills to review and prioritize security recommendations effectively. Practical knowledge of Azure and Azure cloud services. Experience with Azure DevOps or similar Git-based workflows. Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-department coordination. Ideal Background: Experience as a Systems Administrator , Systems Engineer , or Azure Cloud Engineer . Proven expertise in cloud security, infrastructure automation, and scripting
