With recent client successes, we are currently looking for a Devops & Database. In this hybrid role, you will combine DevOps expertise with Database Administration, focusing on PostgreSQL (including TimescaleDB) and MongoDB. As the backbone of our analytics platform, our database systems require expert management and innovation to ensure optimal performance at scale. This role is based in Melbourne, Australia, with flexible working arrangements, including a mix of office and remote work. The position includes on-call responsibilities, so excellent communication and a proactive problem-solving mindset are essential. Key Responsibilities Database Administration Design, deploy, and maintain high-performance PostgreSQL and TimescaleDB systems. Optimize databases using indexing, partitioning, and advanced TimescaleDB features (e.g., hypertables, continuous aggregates, compression). DevOps & Cloud Infrastructure Manage cloud-based infrastructure (preferably AWS) for SQL and NoSQL databases. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for database operations. Required Skills 5 years of experience with PostgreSQL, including TimescaleDB extensions. Expertise in TimescaleDB features (e.g., hypertables, continuous aggregates, compression). Preferred Skills Experience with time-series data and analytics workloads. Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
