Purpose of the role: The Traffic Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe movement of pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles within Sydney’s road network Key Responsibilities: • Traffic Management: Assessing and implementing strategies to improve traffic flow, manage parking, and enhance road safety in compliance with legislative requirements. • Data Analysis: Collecting and analysing traffic data to identify issues and enable the development of effective solutions to traffic, parking, and safety concerns. • Stakeholder Engagement: Provide clear and timely information and professional advice to internal and external stakeholders (i.e business owners, residents) to support informed decision-making • Local Traffic Committee Support : Contribute to the Local Pedestrian, Cycling and Traffic Calming Committee by providing reports and technical support to facilitate effective decision-making. Key Requirements: • Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field • Experience: Relevant experience in traffic engineering, including the ability to resolve complex traffic and transport-related problems and negotiate viable solutions with stakeholders. • Skills: Strong analytical skills for data interpretation, excellent communication abilities for stakeholder engagement, and proficiency in project management. • Licenses: A current Class C Driver’s License.
