Australian Citizenship with Baseline clearance Multiple locations Brisbane, Canberra and Melbourne 12 months with 2 12 months extensions Job details Our client is looking for a Senior infrastructure Engineers implement, manage and retire the infrastructure (including physical, virtual, networking and cloud infrastructure) that supports digital services. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in data and Database management and maintenance with the ability to conduct backup and support as required. Key duties and responsibilities Provide expert best practice technical advice to stakeholders Manage the regular maintenance of patches and support packages for all technical layers Manage the administration of database solutions, backup and disaster recovery, platform stability, problem management and root cause analysis Assist with developing staff capability through knowledge transfer as the subject matter expert, and provide assistance and mentor ship to less experienced colleagues Technical skills Hadoop experience (HDFS, NiFi, Kafka, Ozone etc). RHEL 7/8 experience. Programming languages (python, ansible, bash, Spark). Postgres DB experience, including replication and streaming. Openstack experience. 6. Preparation and deployment of vendor patches. Essential requirements: Provides advice and guidance on the planning, design and improvement of service and component availability. Investigates all breaches of availability targets and service non-availability and initiates remedial activities. Develops plans for disaster recovery together with supporting processes. Manages the testing of disaster recovery plans. Monitors service component capacity and initiates actions to resolve any shortfalls according to agreed procedures. Applies techniques to control the demand upon a particular resource or service. Contributes to capacity modelling and planning. Supports the design of service component capacity. Designs, codes, verifies, tests, documents, amends and refactors moderately complex programs/scripts. Applies agreed standards and tools to achieve a well-engineered result. Monitors and reports on progress. Identifies issues related to software development activities. Proposes practical solutions to resolve issues.
