Wood is recruiting for a Senior Technical Safety / Process Safety Engineer with relevant experience in Brownfields Oil & Gas projects to support the expansion of the Operations APAC (West) business. Based in Darwin, this is a long-term commitment role and is available on a full-time / part-time (job share) basis. Wood’s “Operations” APAC West business delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation, and technical services to the Oil & Gas industry and enjoys long-term partnerships with some of the region’s most prominent Energy and LNG producers located in Western Australia, Northern Territory and Southeast Asia. Wood is recruiting for a Senior Technical Safety / Process Safety Engineer to join our team in Darwin. Ideally, you will hold full work rights and be able to work lawfully in this Australian location to be considered for this opportunity. Those with visa applications in progress are also encouraged to apply. You will be suitably qualified with an Engineering degree from a recognised institution, and ideally you will have relevant experience in safety engineering for petroleum production or processing facilities within Australia or preferably on brownfield projects for hydrocarbon processing facilities. In addition, you will have: 6 or more years of experience in formal safety assessment (FSA) studies, risk-based decision-making and the design/specification of safety-critical equipment and systems Knowledge of safety regulations and applicable industry codes/standards Excellent report writing and oral communication skills Strong analytical and numerical skills Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment Demonstrated experience in supporting and mentoring junior colleagues.
