Motion Recruitment is partnered with a leading global Aussie brand across a back end java developer role. The role will be a part of a large scale digital transformation focused on enhancing customer experience. We are seeking a skilled back end java developer to design and build high performing server side applications. You will have the opportunity to work with an innovative and collaborative team playing a key role in developing scalable back end systems making web applications reliable and successful. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java frameworks like Spring Boot and Quarkus. Build and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices, with a focus on performance and scalability. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring systems are running optimally. Collaborate with product teams, designers, and frontend developers to create seamless solutions. Conduct code reviews to maintain quality and identify opportunities for improvement. Optimize applications for scalability, security, and reliability. Stay current with industry trends and bring fresh ideas to the table. Requirements: Strong expertise in Java development and backend frameworks such as Spring Boot or Quarkus. Proven experience building RESTful APIs and working with enterprise integration patterns. Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and containerization tools like Kubernetes. Knowledge of databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and version control systems (e.g., Git). Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk or Datadog. Ability to design solutions with a focus on security, performance, and scalability. Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive and self-motivated approach to work. Experience in Agile software delivery is a plus. The role is based in Sydney 2-3 days in the office working hybrid. It is a 6 month contract to start off with opportunity for ongoing extension. The role is a day rate contract at $750 - 800 inclusive of Super Annuation per day.
