Your responsibilities will include: About the program : AIR6500 is the RAAF’s $3 billion program to develop a joint air battle management system that builds on the capabilities offered by Next Generation sensor and command and control systems. AIR6500 will create a fully networked ‘system of systems’ that synchronises air and missile defence operations in joint and coalition environments, maximising situational awareness and enhancing the speed of decision making across the battlespace. About the role : The Communications Systems Integration and Test Engineer will support the design, development and integration of voice and IP communications systems. This includes analysing and assessing architectures of disparate systems and networks, and providing solutions for the integration of these systems with the broader JABMS (Joint Air Battle Management System) Mission System. Your key responsibilities will include : Analysing extant networks and systems to identify optimal approaches for integration with the JABMS Mission System Preparing required artefacts (plans and procedures) and activities required for integration of the Communications Subsystem with the Mission System and external networks and systems Conducting Communications Subsystem integration and V&V activities Identifying, analysing and resolving defects and technical issues in accordance with the Defect Management Process Collaborating with the geographically dispersed Lockheed Martin teams, Commonwealth and subcontractor stakeholders About you: To be successful in this role, you will have : Strong understanding of network protocols and concepts: VoIP, RoIP, SIP, BGP, OSPF, IPSec, GRE, VPN tunnelling protocols, unicast and multicast routing, and VLANs Experience in the integration of complex Defence Communication Systems (hardware and software) Good knowledge of Defence Test & Evaluation Any of the below would be highly regarded, but not essential : Experienced in the integration of complex Defence Combat systems (including hardware and software) Working knowledge of safety management, configuration management and quality assurance in an Integration and Test environment both physical and virtual Working knowledge of defence Verification and Validation process for ASDEFCON Special Requirements: Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and employment may be contingent on the provision of further personal information including citizenship to ensure compliance with international export control legislation and regulations.
