As Senior Platform Engineer, you’ll work with multi-discipline expert teams to implement, rollout and support PEXA applications and systems across cloud environments. The team’s focus will be to ensure that all PEXA systems are secure and have been deployed using an automated scalable approach. Ideally, you’ll have an infrastructure or software development background and have moved into Platform Engineering which gives you an edge in understanding the needs of the team and business and what is needed to not only find issues but fix them as well. At this point in your career, you will have an excellent understanding of Engineering principles and a systematic approach to solving problems or debugging issues. You’ll have spent time invoking change within teams and driving technology initiatives across them. You’ll will have the pragmatism to balance short term deliverables with longer-term objectives. Key Accountabilities - You will provide leadership in the design of implementation of cloud native solutions with key objectives in the areas of automation, availability, scalability, and security management. - You will help execute the delivery of quality new products and supporting the enabling services and infrastructure backbone as required. - Provide mentorship to Platform Engineers, growing a collaborative and innovative environment. - Collaborate with key PEXA Technology partners, product and development teams. - Ensure the systems have observability build into their DNA to enable monitoring and alerting across the board. - Develop and maintain key services to enhance platform capabilities. Skills and Experience - 3 Years hands on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure - 3 Years hands on experience working with CI/CD and Dev Teams - 2 Years experience in Finance Services or other highly regulated industry - Experienced working in technical teams – implementing continuous improvement practices such as pairing, threat modelling, code reviews - Proven background in delivering and supporting Enterprise level services and platforms. This includes ensuring compliance to build, test and deploy standards. - Demonstrated experience in delivery using agile methodologies - Deep understanding of environment provisioning and configuration - Advanced knowledge and experience of AWS services - Terraform / Terragrunt - Linux/Unix Administration - Docker and containers - Kubernetes - Automation and configuration management tools - Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies - Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service - Scripting technologies – Bash and Python - Experience in web platforms, APIs and related technologies - GIT Key Attributes - You are a great team player. - You are passionate about technology. - Demonstrated ability to innovate. - Automation and Security are your first thoughts when working on a new solution. - You are someone who looks forward to coming to work and brings a positive attitude in the work you undertake.
