About the opportunity AUSTRAC is hiring for two positions, to join the Systems Development and Assurance Team within the Innovation and Technology Solutions (ITS) Branch. APS6 Senior Engineer As the Senior Engineer, you'll contribute your expertise to projects, systems and make a difference in how AUSTRAC deliver's its services to the public. As a key member of the team, you'll work closely across multiple products and systems delivery teams to provide development expertise related to IT systems applications, programs, and projects. You'll explore and implement breakthroughs in product delivery and deliver practical, stable and sustainable solutions. As an impact player, you'll bring unique ideas and a diverse perspective, ready to tackle complex challenges and drive meaningful change. EL1 Lead Product Engineer As the Lead Product Engineer, you'll take command in designing, developing and maintaining bespoke software systems. You'll leverage powerful technologies to deliver stable, scalable, and user-centric solutions. Working closely with the ITS branch and third-party vendors, you'll lead and shape AUSTRAC's systems capability to meet evolving needs. As a leader you are a multiplier, guiding a team of talented software engineers and creating an environment where people feel empowered and encouraged to contribute their best ideas. Tertiary qualification in a related discipline and/or high-level equivalent work experience. Strong application and background in developing applications in Java, Apache, Spark, Kubernetes, Gradle, Maven, Jenkins, relational and non-relational databases. Demonstrated experience in ReactJS and AWS is desirable. Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring teams in best practice in software development techniques. The key duties of the position include In these roles, you'll put users in the heart of everything you do, designing intuitive systems and ensuring seamless integration of technology, security, and functionality in every solution we create. Software Development and Maintenance - Develop and maintain bespoke software solutions using Java, Spark, ReactJS, and associated tools (Gradle, Maven, Jenkins, Kubernetes). Design core applications to be reusable and extensible through shared data models and messaging technology. Support technical projects to extend IT systems, including coding, testing, and installing applications. Technical Support and Troubleshooting - Provide technical support and advice for AUSTRAC applications to both internal and external customers. Review IT systems' support requirements, address system issues, and implement fixes and enhancements. Team Leadership and Collaboration - Collaborate with Delivery Managers, Technical Leads, and ITS staff to ensure the stability, security, and reliability of IT systems. Database Management and Data Integrity - Work with Oracle/Postgres relational databases, focusing on data integrity and quality issues.
