Employed by Webuild, the role on offer is a full-time role based on-site in Badgerys Creek or Orchard Hills. This is an ideal next step opportunity for someone who has a strong background the rail industry, which experience in track construction that is ready to join a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: Ensure all quality and environmental aspects of the project are addressed to maintain effective operation and project delivery Monitors and controls subcontractors performance and ensures the quality and standard of workmanship is performed in accordance with the specifications Ensures that the appropriate personnel are in place with delegated responsibilities to guarantee quality procedures are integrated Ensures that project team completes all outstanding defects as a matter of priority Adhere to safety plan for project and communicates it to project team members including suppliers and subcontractors Ensures compliance with all relevant HSE policies, procedures and relevant legislative requirements Provide support and advice on planning and design suitability and options, the use of materials, resources, components or systems within the project, and construction practices and problems to ensure project success, value for money and best practice are achieved Manage the operational aspects of project delivery to ensure the effective and efficient use of systems and processes involved with all phases of the project management model Forecasts the number of labour hours for scope of works and monitor daily costs against planned Review and procurement of appropriate resources to fulfil programme requirements (plant, labour, materials and sub-contractor requirements) Maintain 4 week look ahead of program Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems Prepare project status reports and change orders Manages cost control for certain aspects of the project in order to ensure the project meets its performance targets in relation to budget/forecast Monitors cost versus budget and assesses allowances made for risk items Reviews and recommends to the Senior Project Engineer, subcontractor and supplier progress payments including variations and cost recoveries Manages construction budgets to allow accurately profit / loss forecasting and monitors the financial performance for certain aspects of the project Manage and maintain effective liaison and communication with all levels of internal and external shareholders on all matters relating to the construction activities Participate in Client/contractor meetings Works closely and ensures Site Engineers are supported and performing as required Conducts regular site meetings to foster understanding, participation and enthusiasm Establishes and maintains close relationships with Site Supervisor(s) to drive program and results Carry out works involving certification of the safety of rail infrastructure, rolling stock or any part or component of rail infrastructure Criteria : Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant engineering discipline 4 years’ experience in a construction/engineering environment Extensive experience on complex, high value projects within the infrastructure or rail sectors In-depth understanding of rail systems, track design, and other railway infrastructure components. Proficiency in project planning, scheduling, and execution, ensuring rail projects are delivered on time and within budget. Strong technical skills in areas such as rail track design, signalling, electrification, and other railway engineering disciplines. Knowledge of safety regulations and standards specific to rail projects, ensuring compliance and prioritizing safety in project execution. Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with various stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities. Experience in overseeing rail construction activities, including track laying, signalling installations, and other infrastructure developments. Implementation of quality control measures to ensure the delivery of high-quality rail infrastructure and compliance with engineering standards. Ability to identify and address engineering challenges and unexpected issues during rail project implementation. What’s next?
