12 12 month contract - Hybrid work arrangements Surry Hills, NSW - Baseline clearance desirable Python, Docker, Kubernetes - Common python & R ML libraries/packages Our client, a large Federal Government department based in Surry Hills, NSW, requires an experienced Machine Learning engineer for a month 12 12 month contract. Duties Providing end to end ownership of building secure CI/CD processes for various DSCE applications (Design, Build, Test, Support). Provision of support and maintenance of Advanced Analytics and Data Science solutions delivered by the DSC Producing efficient, high-quality code and solutions for DSCE projects Performing code reviews for peers. Extracting, cleansing, and preparing of data from multiple sources, in particular the data warehouse, and advising on appropriate data checks for reasonableness. Supporting junior staff, delegation, management, and coaching. Undertaking ad hoc modelling requests and report production. Technical skills Python scripting & programming - Docker, Kubernetes - Common python & R libraries/packages for machine learning (e.g. for Python: NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, spacy, ntlk ) - AWS/Azure CLI & SDK development - Gitlabs, Jenkins, Azure DevOps/other pipeline development. Essential criteria 3 years of demonstrated experience developing CI/CD processes and supporting teams to deliver a variety of systems in Data Science, or DevOps teams Demonstrated experience and understanding of machine learning and data science systems and solutions. Experience in using a range of tools to deploy data science and machine learning systems including but not limited to Git, Artifactory, Jenkins/Azure Devops. Experience in use of public cloud-based infrastructure in AWS or Azure. Desirable criteria Experience in the design of solutions involving Posit Workbench & Posit connect Development of API infrastructure to serve machine learning predictions/inferences Development of batch job infrastructure to serve machine learning predictions/inferences Working knowledge of machine learning and data science algorithms and techniques.
