Our client is seeking a cost engineer / quantity surveyor with commercial / financial experience to work on Telecommunications (fibre fixed-line) construction projects. Role description: Responsible for a thorough audit of our key financial items, which are Provisional Sums, Rock and Variations. The engineering and ops team are capturing information associated with these daily. This person will work with the engineering and operations team to: Collate evidence and prepare it for submission/reconciliation. Audit the information provided by our internal team and report on discrepancies. Review our financial summaries and R&O items and monitor PSUM, Rock and Variation revenues and risk in relation to these. Ensure that processes to capture and close out these risks are being followed by the team. Requires a blend of some commercial / financial audit and reviewing, as well as working with ops team to gather evidence, ensure processes are sound and be proactive supporting outcome requirements and operational support/improvement. Someone who can bridge the gap between commercial/finance and the engineering, land access and construction teams. People with Quantity Surveying training would be highly desirable. Above all attention to detail is critical.
