The key duties of the position include The Role Conduct platform-engineering activities under the AASB Engineering Management System (EMS), including the development of engineering evaluations, designs as part of the MDOA under the DASR 21J framework, while maintaining engineering excellence and best practice. Exercise Engineering Authority to develop, review and approve technical documentation in accordance with AASB EMS in support of various internal and external engineering design approvals, including Engineering Change Proposals, Technical Dispositions, Modification Orders, Deviations and Publication Updates. Conduct engineering investigations including deep-dives and desktop analysis. Work under broad supervision to identify issues and solve problems, including providing specialist engineering advice and recommendations. Communicate effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders on a range of topics, in order to identify and respond to stakeholders needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes. Build and maintain positive relationships with team members, and actively participate in team work. Provide technical input to Platform Engineering team discussions as required. Supervise and mentor as required. About our Team The Army Aviation Systems Branch (AASB) purpose is to deliver military aviation systems to the capability managers. AASB is responsible for the acquisition and through-life support of all Army helicopters and tactical unmanned aerial systems through both Project Offices (PO) and Systems Program Offices (SPO) within Australia and overseas.
