Senior Software Engineer — City, North Canberra

Job Description The Role: The Department is looking for a Full-Stack Web Developer to join the Digital Transformation Program to work across several data and analytics platforms. We are looking for a Full-Stack Web Developer with strong expertise in React and/or Angular to design, build, and maintain high-quality web applications. The ideal candidate is experienced in frontend and backend development, follows best practices in software engineering, and can collaborate effectively with stakeholders. Experience with Python and data warehousing concepts is a plus. Key duties and responsibilities Design, develop, and enhance web applications based on user needs and team priorities. Write clean, secure, and well-tested code that is maintainable and reusable. Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Maintain and operate deployed services, proactively identifying and resolving production issues. Develop intuitive user interfaces and seamless backend integrations. Contribute to a continuous integration / continuous delivery (CI/CD) cadence to ensure rapid and reliable software releases Essential Criteria: 1. Strong expertise in React and/or Angular to design, build, and maintain high-quality web applications. 2. Demonstrated experience in frontend and backend development, follows best practices in software engineering. 3. Experience working with Engineering, Storage and Analytics services in cloud infrastructure. 4. Experience working collaboratively in an agile development team Location and Contract Term: This role is based in ACT. 4 month contract with 1x12-month contract extension options pending budget and delegate approval.
