L3Harris Space and Airborne Systems Australia Senior Rf Design Engineer Eight Mile Plains, Brisbane About The Opportunity As part of the RF team, you will be working with a team of highly skilled RF electronics engineers to solve complex design challenges by utilising modern tools and software. The opportunity will challenge you to think out of the box and deliver innovative and cutting-edge solutions. What The Role Will Involve: The responsibilities of your role will include the following: - Design, development and prototyping of new RF & microwave components and electronic subsystems, or the modification of existing products. - RF line-up design, modelling and simulations of RF & microwave circuits using software packages - Perform part stress analysis and reliability predictions - Provide supervision, guidance and mentoring to a small team of RF engineers directly reporting into the role. - Provide specialist technical and supervisory support to the Hardware Engineering Lead in the area of RF design and development. Qualification testing and documentation of new products, including Antenna testing and EMI/EMC testing - Documentation of product design either directly or through supervision of contractors or drawing office staff as appropriate - Management of part numbers in the ERP system including procurement information - Work with Procurement to source and procure parts required for prototypes/production - Ability to participate in generation of formal quotations and bids - Ability to deal with customers and present design details during review e.g. customer design reviews - Provide Engineering leadership to small multi-disciplinary teams to meet financial and time constraints in the delivery of projects in the RF area of practice. - Participate in internal company process e.g. non-conformance reports, failure reports, etc. - Provide Engineering support to manufacturing and testing - Participate in R&D meetings to evaluate new technical opportunities and contribute to company strategic direction - Maintain a focus on producing quality products and recommend enhancements which will promote either customer satisfaction or cost reductions - Recommend enhancements from time to time to the company's actions in achieving outstanding customer satisfaction What You'll Bring - Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Electronics/Electrical Engineering with a strong RF/microwave/photonics background - Extensive experience in similar role - Extensive experience with RF modelling and simulation software packages such as CST Microwave Studio , Microwave Office and Matlab for RF line-up budget calculations, modelling and simulation of RF & microwave circuits - Experience with software for modelling 3D electromagnetic structures - Experience with a drawing software package, such as Altium or equivalent, for schematics and PCB design. - Ability to lead a small design team and provide leadership in the RF engineering discipline area - Experience in leading the RF delivery in a multi-disciplinary engineering team environment - Experience with a production environment and product development - Experience in generating engineering plans, design documentation and work-breakdown-structures - Experience in working with customers to understand project requirements and generating specifications About Us L3Harris Space and Airborne Systems is a Brisbane based subsidiary of L3Harris and part of our ICI Division.
