This position involves assessing risks and offering specialised technical guidance on all Transmission Live Substation operations, ensuring the safety and reliability of Powerlink’s High Voltage Transmission Network. Further to this you will; Identify risks and hazards, providing High Voltage Transmission Live Substation Work engineering advice and direction Deliver SME engineering advice on Transmission Substation Live Work practices and technical support as required to internal stakeholders Oversee and provide quality assurance for compliance testing of all Transmission Substation Live Work equipment Act as an SME and drive the creation, revision, and interpretation of Transmission Substation Live Work rules Maintain the competency of the Transmission Substation Live Work team through an assessment program and retraining Conduct periodic reviews and audits of Transmission Substation Live Work procedures Provide expert technical advice on compliance with policies and procedures and all legislative Acts, Standards, and Codes of Practice relevant to the electricity supply industry pertaining to transmission Substations. The people you'll join: Located in our Virginia office, you will be a key member of the Operational Engineering division, directly reporting to the Principal Engineer, Live Substation Field Engineering. What you'll bring: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering coupled with significant experience in Substation High Voltage Live Work Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) or ability to obtain You should have significant experience and extensive knowledge in Transmission Substation High Voltage Live Work. You will possess specialist knowledge of Transmission Substation High Voltage Live Work practices and demonstrate the ability to apply this knowledge to the design, maintenance, and construction of Transmission Substations. You will be proficient in utilising condition assessment techniques and undertaking maintenance and risk management for transmission substations. Additionally, you must be capable of working with and providing technical support to operational teams, applying your knowledge of transmission plant, equipment, associated systems, and field work requirements to achieve delivery outcomes. A demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislative requirements, including the Electricity Act, Workplace Health and Safety Act, and Environmental Protection Act, is essential.
