Fed up of building web apps and want to work on something tangible, something you can touch, something that is used in the real world and used for good? This is an opportunity to build an interface that connects to hardware which is transforming the aviation industry and enables real-time communications to remote areas all over the globe. Your work will be directly connected to real-world impact. Imagine working alongside Engineering teams (e.g. Hardware, FPGA and RF Engineers) who are creating complex hardware and your job is to make it super simple to use. You will of course be working with other awesome software engineers, but you’ll be a part of something bigger than the sum of it’s parts. The existing frontend is built in React with NodeJS / JavaScript running in the background. Experience in implementing RESTful and/or gRPC API services will also be sought after. Deep knowledge of API development will also be sought after. Experience with one of the following languages (e.g. Python, Golang, C#, Java) will also be sought after. In fact, this role is more about solving problems than being language specific. There will be some work on the existing system but the lion's share of the work you’ll be doing is on greenfield, never-been-done-before tech. Never-been-done-before can sometimes be seen as a gamble but seeing as they’ve raised $120m, have teams globally and customers in different countries, all signs point to them doing it REALLY well. You don’t need to have experience in embedded web applications development, but it would help as there is a level of complexity which isn’t found in traditional backend-frontend systems. However, if you’re super curious and love making complex things simple, this could be a chance to use your skills to do something completely different.
