Our client is seeking an experienced and driven SOE Engineer for a 12 month contract. If you have a passion for automation, security, and cloud technologies, we want to hear from you Key Responsibilities: SOE Development & Security Hardening: Lead the development and implementation of Standard Operating Environments (SOE) for Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022), ensuring compliance with industry security hardening standards. Automation & Orchestration: Automate server hardening, software deployments, and upgrades using tools like Ansible, Aria Automation (optional), and Azure pipelines. Patching & Configuration: Design and implement efficient patching solutions and configuration management strategies, including migration from WSUS to modern platforms. RBAC & Server Fleet Management: Implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) across a large fleet of over 7,000 VMs, and proactively manage the health and stability of the server infrastructure. Required Skills & Qualifications: OS Security Hardening: Proven experience in the build and security hardening of Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022). Experience with RHEL8 and RHEL9 (optional). Automation Tools: Strong proficiency with automation tools such as Ansible, Aria Automation (optional), and Azure pipelines. Experience automating the deployment and upgrades of server fleets is essential. DevOps & CI/CD: Proficient in using DevOps and CI/CD tools to streamline operations. Cloud Platforms: Solid experience working with AWS, Azure, and VMware, with a focus on deploying and maintaining SOE. Patching Solutions: Hands-on experience in designing and migrating patching solutions, particularly in moving from WSUS. VMware & Hosting: Extensive experience managing a large fleet of VMs (7,000), distributed across multiple hosting locations. RBAC Implementation: Proven track record in implementing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) across large server environments.
