Hardware Design Engineer — The Rocks, Sydney

NXT GIG is seeking a talented Hardware Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing hardware components for our innovative technology solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and translate them into effective hardware designs that meet performance, reliability, and cost targets. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of electronic circuit design, PCB layout, and hardware troubleshooting. Responsibilities Design, prototype, and validate hardware products and components based on project requirements. Develop schematic diagrams, PCB layouts, and associated documentation for hardware designs. Conduct thorough testing and debugging of hardware systems to ensure functionality and performance. Collaborate with software engineers to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components. Stay current with industry standards and trends in hardware design, suggesting improvements and innovations. Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate design progress and findings to stakeholders. Support manufacturing and quality assurance teams to resolve hardware-related issues. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience as a Hardware Design Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong portfolio of design projects. Solid understanding of electronic circuits, PCB design, and hardware troubleshooting techniques. Experience with design software such as Altium Designer, Eagle, or similar tools. Familiarity with embedded systems and integration of hardware with software applications. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
