The Role: Platform Engineer We’re expanding our team of top-tier Engineers, driving impact across multiple high-profile projects in Australia. This is an exciting time to join DevOps1, as we continue to make waves in the industry, partnering with leading clients on their digital transformation journey. As a Platform Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing, automating, and optimizing scalable platform solutions to support modern cloud-native applications. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring reliability, security, and performance across cloud platforms and infrastructure. What You’ll Do: Design & Manage Cloud Platforms – Architect, build, and maintain scalable infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or GCP, leveraging cloud-native services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and IAM. Infrastructure as Code & Automation – Develop and implement IaC solutions using Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation to provision and manage infrastructure in a repeatable and efficient manner. Containerization & Orchestration – Deploy, manage, and optimize Kubernetes clusters, ensuring reliability, security, and high availability. Utilize Helm for Kubernetes application management. CI/CD & DevOps Practices – Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or ArgoCD to enable automated build, testing, and deployment processes. Observability & Monitoring – Implement and maintain monitoring and logging solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Loki, OpenTelemetry, and distributed tracing tools like Dynatrace, Datadog, or New Relic. Networking & Security – Apply security best practices, including IAM, Zero Trust security principles, and secrets management using Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, or SSM. Optimize networking configurations including VPC, DNS, and load balancing. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement – Work closely with software engineers, SRE teams, and business stakeholders to align platform strategies with project goals. Advocate for DevOps and SRE best practices to enhance operational efficiency. What We’re Looking For: Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) with a strong understanding of cloud services, networking, and security. Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration, including Helm for package management. Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation) for managing infrastructure at scale. Automation and scripting experience in Python, Go, or Bash to streamline infrastructure and deployment processes. Experience building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or ArgoCD. Proficiency in observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Loki, OpenTelemetry, and application performance monitoring tools (Dynatrace, Datadog, New Relic). Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, including VPC, DNS, and API gateways, with experience implementing secure authentication methods (OAuth, IAM, RBAC, SSO).
