Description The Role The Software Engineer draws upon experience to take ownership of the ongoing design and development of Automic Group’s registry platform. In this role you will work very closely to Business Analysts, Product Owner, Operations and Sales team in order to discuss requirements and understand the business value of what each task is trying to achieve. You will gain exposure to a diverse range of cutting-edge products within Automic Group’s ecosystem, enabling you to broaden your skillset and deepen your understanding of various business areas and technologies. As an integral member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects within one of our exciting registry product streams. Responsibilities Design and implement reusable object-oriented systems and components. Write high-quality, modular, and well-documented code that can be easily reused in future projects. Develop web applications, middleware, and integration with third-party systems to meet business requirements. Collaborate with the team to plan and prioritise project iterations, and track progress towards goals. Create automated tests to ensure code stability and quality. Participate in code review and design sessions of new features. Provide ongoing maintenance, monitoring, and support for live production systems to ensure continuous operation and optimisation. Skills And Experiences Demonstrated Capabilities 5 years of hands-on experience in commercial Object Oriented Programming (OOP) with Java and JEE in a highly technical environment. Proficiency in exposing and consuming REST services, and Angular or AngularJS, and equivalent MVC frameworks. Strong analytical and logical skills with a solid understanding of design patterns, Java MVC frameworks, and Object Relational Mapping (ORM) technologies. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts. Commitment to achieving deadlines and staying up-to-date with the latest web-scale technologies. Familiarity with Scrum or Extreme Programming project methods. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a relevant field.
