Participate in the design and preparation of documents for waterfront civil site development (site layout, grading, storm water, erosion control, utilities, and other infrastructure systems) Assist with design of waterfront facilities with other disciplines (coastal, structural and Inspection/Rehabilitation). Perform design calculations and prepare design drafts Study, evaluate, and document design criteria; research applicable codes, and present findings to project team for implementation Calculate quantities of elements for construction of projects and prepare cost estimates Visit project sites if required Assist with similar duties in other engineering disciplines assigned by Project Managers It is expected that the successful candidate will have a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals taught in their completed university subjects Other duties: Please note this job posting is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Qualifications: Pursuing a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering Must have completed two years in their Bachelor’s program (or equivalent in Civil Engineering if undertaking a double degree) Possess a minimum GPA equivalent to ‘credit’ grading (65%) All new hires will be required to complete and pass a background check in compliance with NIST 800-171 A copy of unofficial transcripts must be submitted with application to be considered for the internship Construction Industry White Card is preferred Physical requirements: Majority of work is office based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
