Mechanical Engineering Technician — Brisbane, Brisbane Region

ConsultANZ is looking for experienced Mechanical Engineering Technicians to join our client in Brisbane or Perth. Our client is a reputable company specializing in the mechanical installation of solar farms, with a strong reputation in both local and international markets. They have successfully delivered large-scale solar projects across Australia, as well as smaller fixed systems. Main Responsibilities You will be responsible to: Carry out maintenance repairs and modifications on machinery, and equipment. Perform regular tests, inspections and maintenance of equipment and machinery and collect test data for analysis. Prepare mechanical diagnostic reports; provide feedback to relevant work units. Coordinate and supervise the inspection and maintenance of machinery being carried out by external contractors. Install, replace, or repair major equipment components, mechanical assemblies, and hydraulic control systems. Maintain and update records of work performed on machinery and equipment. Interpret technical drawings and identify appropriate tooling and techniques to implement modifications or repairs. Maintain high standards of practice and awareness in relation to Quality Assurance and safety management. Order and collect mechanical parts, equipment and tools. Train other staff members on correct operating procedures to ensure equipment is operating efficiently and effectively. Onsite callout and breakdown problem solving, troubleshooting and repairs. Requirements The successful candidate will bring into the role: Minimum 5 years of experience as a Heavy Duty Fitter/Mechanic, especially with large machinery (e.g., excavators, trucks, loaders). Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical knowledge. Relevant trade qualifications (e.g., Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic). Problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Valid driver’s license. Benefits Base salary of $75k - $90k superannuation, negotiable based on level of experience. Work on renewable energy projects with a reputable company.
