We are currently seeking a talented Structural Engineer to join our team on the Sunshine Coast who is RPEQ qualified. Our team is based on the Sunshine Coast however you may work across our Brisbane or Sunshine Coast offices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, analysis, and assessment of structural projects across various sectors, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities of the role include: Design & Engineering • Perform structural analysis, design, and documentation for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. • Ensure designs comply with Australian Standards, Building Codes, and client requirements. • Prepare detailed engineering calculations, reports, and specifications. • Conduct site inspections, investigations, and assessments of existing structures. Project Management & Delivery • Lead structural engineering aspects of projects from concept to completion. • Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders. • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and drafters. • Review and approve engineering drawings and documentation. Compliance & Quality Assurance • Maintain RPEQ (Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland) certification and uphold professional engineering standards. • Ensure all designs meet safety, sustainability, and efficiency requirements. • Conduct risk assessments and implement quality control measures. Business Development & Client Engagement • Assist in preparing proposals, tenders, and fee estimates. • Foster strong relationships with existing and potential clients. • Provide technical expertise and solutions to complex engineering challenges. Qualifications & Experience required: • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (or equivalent). • RPEQ certification (Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland) – Essential. • Minimum 7 years of structural engineering experience in Australia. • Proficiency in s tructural design software (e.g., SpaceGass, RAPT, ETABS, Revit). • Strong knowledge of Australian Standards (AS1170, AS3600, AS4100, AS2870, etc.). • Experience with reinforced concrete, steel, timber, and masonry structures. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Strong communication and report-writing skills. • Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Desirable Skills • Experience in forensic engineering and remedial design. • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) software. • Exposure to project management and stakeholder engagement. • Experience in retirement living communities, residential/commercial developments, civil infrastructure projects, asset management in buildings & infrastructure, remedial/prevention engineering. This role is based in our team which which are located in our beautiful Sunshine Coast offices, however you may work across both our Brisbane and Sunshine Coast offices if necessary.
