Cyber Security Engineer — Cairns Region, Queensland

We are now seeking a talented and passionate Cyber Security Engineer to join our growing team in Cairns. As a Cyber Security Engineer at Reef IT, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our clients’ infrastructure, ensuring the highest levels of reliability, performance, and resilience against ever-evolving cyber threats. Key Responsibilities: 1.Security Strategy Development: Collaborate with our team to design and implement comprehensive cybersecurity strategies tailored to our clients’ unique needs. 2.Security Assessment and Penetration Testing: Perform security assessments and penetration tests on client networks, applications, and systems to identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses. 3.Security Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and maintain security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection solutions. 4.Vulnerability Assessments: Conduct vulnerability scans and assessments to identify weaknesses in our clients’ systems. Provide detailed reports and recommendations for remediation. 5.Incident Response: Lead incident response efforts, working closely with clients to contain, investigate, and resolve security incidents. Document findings and develop post-incident action plans to prevent future occurrences. 6.Security Awareness and Training: Conduct security awareness training sessions for client employees to educate them about common cyber threats, phishing attacks, and best practices for maintaining a secure workplace. Ideal Candidate Profile: 1.Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. 2.Work Experience: At least two years of relevant work experience in cybersecurity roles. 3.Technical Expertise: Strong background in cybersecurity, including network security, threat detection, and incident response. 4.Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex security issues and develop effective, efficient solutions. 5.Passion for Innovation: A commitment to staying ahead of the curve, researching and testing new technologies to enhance our clients’ security posture. 6.Team Player: Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively with our diverse team.
