Data Engineer- Immediate start — Sydney, Sydney Region

Job Overview - Responsibilities and Duties ● Design of data infrastructure to meet business requirements ● Work with the Data Architects to ensure data standards and dependencies are taken into account in designs ● Participate in process improvement and optimization. ● Provide detailed documentation for all designs using agreed standards ● Ensure the designs maintain the system stability and operational excellence ● Ensure designs take into account Data Quality metrics and ensure the data piping to ensure timeliness, completeness and accuracy of data ● Identify and manage data design risks and issues. ● Ensures designs consider Release planning and test planning ● Work closely with Engineering Leads to ensure risks and issues are communicated that could impact delivery ● Manage the delivery component for release into Production including coordinating testing ● Ensure knowledge transfer is delivered for ongoing 2nd level and 3rd level support of developed components to reduce the impact of application defects and associated incidents and problems . Essential Experience and Skills Excellent technical design and IT data warehouse related experience to the equivalent of 5 year’s experience. ● A strong track record in data infrastructure design and experience in IT operations within large organisations. ● Demonstrated experience in working with complex platforms with multiple stakeholders. ● Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills. ● Has a thorough understanding of the DEVOPS Product Life Cycle. ● Good understanding of IT processes, within a retail environment. ● Designs include the provision of technical alternatives. ● Keep well abreast of industry trends and directions to ensure solutions will provide business with forward compatible, scalable and flexible solutions. ● Demonstrated technical and management knowledge and/or degree qualified ● Technical application knowledge gained at leading vendors and/or general market. ● Experience with Data Infrastructure & Data Warehouse Systems essential SAP is going to be highly desirable Benefits: Opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technology in a rapidly evolving field.
