Senior Project Engineer - FIFO — Manoora, Cairns

The Opportunity Due to the continued growth of the business, Black Cat Civil is seeking applications for Cairns based Senior Project Engineers wanting to further develop their management and delivery skills. The successful applicant will join our Projects division, working in a team of Engineers and Supervisors to deliver critical pieces of civil infrastructure for our clients. The role will be based on 2 weeks on, 1 week off FIFO from Cairns. A market leading remuneration package will be on offer for the right candidate. The Opportunity: The Senior Project Engineer supports the Senior Project Manager in achieving safe, timely, and high-quality project completion within budget. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will oversee project planning, execution, and closure, ensuring contractual profitability and obligations are met. You will provide technical, administrative, and HSEQS support to Supervisors, fostering collaboration with internal and external resources to meet project objectives. Key accountabilities: As an onsite project team ensure the project is delivered to overall program to cost & time with resources needed leading to a high level of client satisfaction Identification and assessment of risk to the project as well as implementation of strategies to mitigate risk Use your technical skills to resolve design challenges and identify value engineering opportunities Cost and forecast control to assist the project managers with strategic planning Lead, develop and manage large project teams on the ground Build effective and & collaborative relationships to coordinate activities with supervisors Maintaining quality, environmental, and safety systems across the project Skills and Competencies: You will ideally have a degree in civil engineering Minimum 7 years' experience with 2 being in a leadership position You will have extensive experience on site working on a major project. You will be able to manage, and develop long-term programs as well as display a high level of competency around contracts, cost forecasting, & management of a large team of engineers Advanced communication skills and an ability to build and maintain relationships with a broad range of subcontractors, local authorities, internal staff and client representatives Our Culture Black Cat Civil is a tight knit team, led by our 2 owners Jai and Brendan.
